Null-Void Shielding: by Chef-Matt

***Do not attempt this shield unless you are very proficient in shielding and are very familiar with both types of shields infused in this system because the backlash can get quite nasty.

Appearance:
It appears as a thick black swirl of energy around the user occasionally if you look closely energy bolts will jump from one place in the shield to another to hem up any weak points.

Overview:
This shielding technique is a combination of 2 others I am familiar with and draws on the inherent strengths of both to make an almost impenetrable shield. It uses a combination of both fusion style shielding and null shielding to make a very powerful but sometimes quite consuming shield. The reason I say this is the shield in the beginning draws off your own power until you are attacked. From there the absorbed energy can power the shield indefinitely. Also I have found the nullifying aspect of the shield will stop people from trying to drain the energy off your shield in order to collapse it. What happens is the shield itself creates a nasty feedback to whoever is attacking and makes them violently ill. How the shielding works:
The shield is created in two parts then fused together. The first part is the fusion shield it is actually quite simple.

Fusion shield:

"Envision a sphere around you that is very slightly charged with electrical energy such as static electricity. You will know its stable when the air around you is slightly charged." Immortal's Playground

I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up when I had the shield charged enough to be able to withstand attacks. This shield can be slightly draining at first seeing it uses you as the center of its energy and can make beginning practitioners dizzy or light headed.

Null shielding:
(inspired from the Immortal's Playground)

Imagine a completely null space around you something like an area of complete emptiness and void of all things. You will know when this is achieved by the accompanying feeling of total emptiness and cold bareness. Do not feed energy into this shielding or it will collapse and backlash on you!

Now to bring both shields things get complicated seeing one shield is almost the opposite of the other. I envisioned each shield slowly getting closer and closer to each other. Slowly winding the energies together into one more powerful shielding. If you feel any resistance step back and let the shield unwind into its separate parts. I would suggest imagine the energy of the 2 shields slowly melding as if you were folding them together into a stronger composite shield. Remember you do NOT need to feed energy to this shield once it is totally established. It is totally self-sustaining from the energy used to attack it. This shield takes time to build and can be very powerful seeing it absorbs the energy used to attack you while nullifying any built in surprises.

You can drain from the shield internally to strengthen attacks by simply touching the inside of the shield and drawing in any excess power.
